Our Christian community is established in the Franciscan tradition so as to offer a way that we help each other on the faith journey though discernment, formation, the Rule and spiritual direction. We recognize that we need a wider community of faith to help us stay on track and honest with ourselves. Our disciplines and the Rule are simply to make room for Christ to transform our stony hearts to hearts of flesh.
The initial formation program for our Sisters is an intensive study of Franciscan spirituality as well as a strong emphasis on prayer and meditation practices. The time frame from postulant to vowed member is about two years. On-going formation is also prescribed by our understanding of our Rule and living out of our vows with the LSSC community. We believe that conversion is a life-long process.
